We cooked some of our prepared Pork and Sage Sausage Rolls and served with a side Salad for $3.10 plus 40c for the Salad, or $3.50 per serve.

Dinner

We returned to a cold weather favorite: Beef Massaman Curry, tonight with Brown Rice.

  • The Beef Stew Meat was $4.23 on special, after all discounts, or $2.12 per serve
  • The curry is $3.38 per can or $1.69 per serve
  • Coconut Cream is $2.29 per can or$1.15 per serve
  • Peanuts were $2.99 but we only used half, or 75c per serve
  • Add 20c for other ingredients
  • Brown Rice adds 34c per serve.

A very tasty Curry for $6.25 per serve.

Nov 1: Giant Baked Beans on Garlic Italian Toast topped with Fried Eggs

Lunch

For lunch we shared a Chicken and Gnocchi Soup that was on special at Whole Foods for $3.14 after all discounts, or $1.57 per serve.

Dinner

Our swapped out Meatless Monday on Tuesday was Giant Baked Beans on Garlic Italian Toast topped with Fried Eggs.

  • Italian Bread adds 38c per serve
  • Garlic Spread adds 45c per serve
  • The Giant Baked Beans are $1.99 or $1.00 per serve
  • Pastured Eggs add $1.00 per serve.

A pretty good meal for $2.83 per serve.

Oct 31: Beer Bratwurst with Apple Endive Salad

Lunch

We had an early lunch of Oat Pancakes with Butter or Cream Cheese for about $1.13 per serve.

Dinner

We swapped our Meatless Monday to Tuesday and had Beer Bratwurst with Apple Endive Salad.

  • Beer Bratwurst were $4.49 or $2.25 per serve
  • The Endive were $2.99 and we used 2/3 or $1.00 per serve
  • The Apple was 48c or 24c per serve
  • Add 30c for dressing ingredients.

A decent meal for $3.89 per serve.

Oct 30: Filet Américain, Baguette and Endive

Lunch

Although we were there just the other night, it was time for a Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich from Skewers Halaal, for $11.85 per serve with a shared Fries.

Dinner

Foodie Philip’s favorite ‘meal:’ Filet Américain with Baguette and Endive. This time we tripled the add-ins and got it right. It makes three generous serves.

  • The Top Sirloin was $8.02, or $2.67 per serve
  • Add 20c for Capers
  • Add 20c for Shallots
  • The Endive were $2.99 and we shared one, or 50c per serve
  • The half a Baguette was $1.29 or 65c per serve
  • Add 10c for Arugula.

A very tasty and satisfying meal for $4.32 per serve.

Oct 29: Sous Vide Shrimp on Jalfrezi Curry

Lunch

We discovered a Sun-dried Tomato Pesto that we really liked, so Foodie Greg cooked up some Pasta and used the Pesto as a Sauce.

  • The Fusilli Corti Bucati Pasta was 89c per serve
  • The Sun-dried Tomato Pesto was $2.29 and we used half or 58c per serve.

The Pest is amazing and the dish was very acceptable at $1.57 per serve.

Dinner

Tonight we sous vide some Argentinean Shrimp and placed them on a Jalfrezi Curry of Potatoes, Spinach and Baby Corn.

  • 1 lb of shrimp was $1o.99 on sale,  or and we used half $2.75 per serve
  • The Jalfrezi Curry Sauce was $3.49 or $1.75 per serve
  • Baby Potatoes were 68c per serve
  • Baby Corn was $2.29 and we used ⅓ or 38c per serve
  • The Spinach adds 20c per serve.

A very tasty curry for $5.76 per serve.

Oct 27: Smoked Trout and Cream Cheese Frittata topped with Tomato Slices

Our original lunch plan fell through, so we reverted to our favorite Speck and Arugula Panini.

  • The Ciabatta is 58c per serve

  • Olive Oil adds 30c per serve.

A perennial favorite for $3.28 per serve.

Dinner

Originally a Smoked Salmon recipe, we modified it to be Smoked Trout instead.

  • We shared a 3.5oz can of Smoked Trout for $1.75 per serve
  • Kumato adds 30c per serve
  • Add 30c per serve for Neufchatel.

A very tasty Frittata for $3.35 per serve.

Oct 25: Seared Pork Belly with Kim Chi on Rice Noodles

When we can’t decide on what to have for lunch, we tend to default to a Speck and Arugula Panini.

Dinner

Our anniversary dinner was seared Pork Belly with Kim Chi on Rice Noodles.

  • The Pork Belly is $6.49 or $3.25 per serve
  • The Kim Chi was $5.39 after discounts, and we used ¼ or 68c per serve
  • The Rice Noodles were $2.99 and we used half, or 75c per serve.

The Pork Belly was the best we’ve ever had, contributing to a really good meal for $4.68 per serve.

Oct 24: Jackfruit “Pulled Pork” Sandwich with BBQ Pinto Beans and Coleslaw

We shared a Ham and Caramelized Onion Tarte d’Alsace for $2.50 per serve.

Dinner

We experimented with a BBQ Flavored Jackfruit sandwich on a Brioche Bagel.

  • The BBQ Jackfruit was $2.99 or $1.50 per serve
  • The BBQ Beans were also $2.99 or $1.50 per serve
  • The Coleslaw adds 40c per serve
  • The Brioche Bun is 58c per serve.

We were not impressed by the Jackfruit, yet again, so we probably will give up on it in the future. An okay meal for $3.98 per serve.
