A very simple and easy meal of Chicken Thighs, simmered in a Tikka Marsala Sauce and served with Brown Rice and Peas.

  • The Pasture Raised Chicken was $5.39 or $2.70 per serve
  • Brown Rice adds 34c per serve
  • Garden Peas add 40c per serve
  • The Simmer sauce was on special for $5.21 or $2.60 per serve.

The Simmer Sauce was tasty enough, but probably not good value at regular price. A quite decent meal for $6.04 per serve.

We aren’t quite sure why it’s been so long since the one time we had Tahitian Poisson Cru, so we tried it again.

Lunch

Lunch was our simple meal of Buttered Shin Ramen with Coleslaw Mix for $1.67 per serve.

Aug 10: Chipotle Turkey Bacon Rissoles with Chipotle Coleslaw

Lunch

We did a sandwich of Speck and Arugula in a Ciabatta Roll, but not in the Panini Press, because it was unwashed!

  • The Ciabatta is 58c per serve
  • The Speck was $3.99, or $2.00 per serve
  • Arugula adds 40c per serve
  • The Duke’s Mayonnaise adds 25c per serve.

Without being in the Ciabatta in the Panini Press, the Speck did not get as warm and soft, and the sandwich ate more “bready” than when done in the Panini Press, but they are minor quibbles about another wise great sandwich for $3.23 per serve.

Dinner

As we didn’t want to add heat from an oven, we used the Chipotle, Bacon, Turkey Meatloaf recipe as Rissoles and cooked them on the grill outside.

  • The Meatloaf is normally $3.13 per serve
  • Add 65c for Coleslaw and Dressing.

A very satisfying meal for $3.78 per serve.

Lunch

We picked up Chili Verde Enchiladas from Viva La Fiesta for $17.00 per serve with tax and tip.

Dinner

Foodie Greg found some Lamb Loin Chops that were even in size and with a reasonable fat spine, so we grilled them and served with an Arugula, Feta and Raspberry Salad.

  • The Lamb Loin Chops were $12.59 or $6.30 per serve
  • Arugula adds 30c per serve
  • The Feta adds 68c per serve
  • The Raspberries were $1.49 per punnet and we used ⅔, or 50c per serve
  • Add 35c for Balsamic Vinegar.

We cooked the Loin Chops, starting with the fat layer down over a low grill as it heated up. Fifteen minutes of smoking slightly baked the Chops, while a relatively short grill finished them. A very good meal for $8.12 per serve.
